ONLY, for Pancakes in the Park members and thier friends, We will open on Friday 16th at 3 and go until we close.

We will open Saturday at 9 am and go to 6pm and Sunday from 12 to 6.

Meet your neighbors. Celebrate spring. Talk to local COP Shop representatives and elected officials about improving neighborhood safety. Learn about our neighborhood efforts to raise funds for a much needed picnic shelter at Polly Judd Park.


Why:        Polly Judd Park needs a picnic shelter


We’ve already raised $20,000, and have only $10,000 to go. Help us raise money for this worthy cause by early summer. Even small donations of $5 to $25 will help us meet this goal! Contributions are tax deductible.


What to Bring:  Potluck Dish to Share, Frisbees, Soccer Balls, Footballs, Baseballs and friendship

Polly Judd Park

Support local and global community building at the same time!

Hello all Pancake in the Park supporters!
 
With kind support from Pam and Tom, I write to give all of you an opportunity to support Pancake in the Park's aim to build a shelter in Polly Judd Park while having fun bringing the world into your home. This summer  the 29 of June - 9 of July we are having a summer camp for young Chinese kids (ages 8-11). The camp will take place on South Hill and we are looking for families to host these wonderful young people while they go to camp. We are a non-profit known as Northwest International Student Exchange (www.nwise.org) and are part of the US diplomacy effort to promote international understanding and good will. I am passionate about that happening here in our community!
 
Hosting allows you and your family to have a fantastic international experience in the comfort of your own home, have a international friend for life and lots of fun with your own family as you share you life and culture. We hold welcome and farewell parties and activities that all host families and children are invited to attend. We have the Chinese students in class and activities all working days, so families just need to provide room and board for a little over a week and a safe, loving environment. Families can host between 1-3 students. Think about how much fun it could be for your own children as well to have this unique opportunity!
 
If you are interested in learning more, please let me know and I will send more information. Also visit our website to watch a video of the summer camp from 2008 as it gives you a great idea of what camp is like www.nwise.org . Please mention that you got this information from the Pancake in the Park e-mail and if you host, I will donate $30-60 (depending on how many students you host) to the Pancake in the Park shelter fund. I am looking for 30 families, so please share this information with other families and I hope to hear from you.
